Influenced by my love for music and dance, my colorful Space Series evokes the playful, imaginative and spontaneous side of life! The interaction of lines gives direction to the colors and shapes that evolve. Underlying tones are reflected by my affinity for both the ocean and the city.
My life as an artist developed unexpectedly after leaving everything and moving from San Diego to Chicago in 2011. I didn’t know anyone in the city. In the spring of 2013 I took an adult beginning drawing class at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to fill my time, meet new people and learn more about the world of art. I told the professor “I can’t draw...” and he replied “I’ll pull it out of you!” And that started my new life as an artist. I had my first art show in 2014 and completed the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s painting certificate program in 2017. I have been accepted and have participated in art festivals since 2016 in Chicago, NYC and Florida. Select prints of my Space Series are carried by Neiman Marcus, Horchow and John-Richard.
